We have been informed by BISHTA (British and Irish Hot Tub Association) of which Sapphire Spas are members that Hot Springs in the UK have unfortunately now gone into administration. We have had a number of customer come to us for information on the Hot Tub manufacturer and supplier.
Hot Springs have been in the UK for some years now and were a large company with branches throughout the UK.
Some people have asked us what to do if they had placed a deposit on a hot spring hottub and would it be refunded. To our knowledge any customer asking for a refund should be able to obtain this as the company has now gone into administration. To existing customers who own a hot spring hot tub and who need parts under warranty we have not been informed wether or not there is a system in place to look after these customers?
So why have Hot springs perhaps the largest Hot Tub company gone into liquidation? We believe that companies such as Sapphire Spas have come into the UK market some five years ago and helped reduce the overall price of hot tubs across the UK. Our Spas are very high quality and we sell via the Internet and in showrooms without the need for expensive premises that cuts the cost which we pass onto our customers. No high paid sales staff that demand huge bonuses. Who paid for those bonuses?
We at Sapphire Spas believe in selling a very good quality product at a very good affordable price. This is not enough though we also provide 100% customer backup and support both at the time of sale and most importantly after sales support.
Since being informed in 2008 that Hotsprings had gone into administration, I have today (26/01/09) been informed that Watkins distribution UK Ltd have now taken over Hotspring Spas. I have been informed via email by their sales manager that they are meeting service liabilities. They have drastically reduced the number of showrroms throughout the UK at this point but they assure me they are truely committed to supporting there customers. We at Sapphire Spas Hot Tubs wish them well in the future.
